Totally adorable and a huge hit at all the Christmas parties. The XL fit my 35lb Australian Shepherd mix like a glove and she's usually a Large (only XL in smaller running clothes), so I'd definitely go up a size if you're on the line. My biggest compliment is on the hat! How often do you get dog hats that have no more ability to balance on a dog's head than a birthday hat? This one has three elastic bands: one that goes under the chin and two that go around the ears. It isn't tight on the ears so my pooch didn't mind it, but it was enough support that when she moved her head up, down, and around, the hat didn't fall right off or slide to her neck. The wristlets for her front paws were my only problem, as she seemed to enjoy pulling the pom-poms off one by one, but otherwise the costume stayed in tact and I anticipate being able to use it again next year.
